Broughton Country Estate, situated in the peaceful countryside of Colleen Glen, offers a variety of unique venue options, which includes Nature’s Cathedral, a stunning forest clearing perfect for outdoor gatherings, The Courtyard, complete with trough-style water features, a gazebo and flower-lined gardens and Broughton Hall, able to seat 100 guests in cinema-style seating, or 30 in classroom style seating.

Broughton Manor House can host 10 guests in five luxuriously decorated double occupancy bedrooms. The spacious bridal and honeymoon suites offer breathtaking views of the surrounding countryside and/or courtyard. All rooms are fitted with Naturepedic fully organic latex, extra length, King size beds, a sitting area, large en-suite bathrooms with underfloor heating and double showers, and wet-bar facilities. In addition, the bridal and honeymoon suites are each fitted with free standing slipper baths. All rooms, public areas around the Manor House, and cottages are covered by an extensive wifi network.

In addition, four unique gazebos, adorned with fairy lights, two lighted bridges and two picturesque dams are ideal for photographic opportunities. Extensive water features and graceful sweeping stairways around the Manor House also provide for stunning backdrops for family photographs. Adjacent to the infinity swimming pool, which boasts sweeping views of the Lady’s Slipper mountain, is a delightfully secluded BBQ area, complete with all of its own amenities to serve light meals, snacks and refreshments.

The property consists of 19 hectares of rolling hills, a combination of beautiful coastal riverine bush and grasslands unique to the Eastern Cape of South Africa. The Manor house, set on one of the highest points in the area, boasts spectacular mountain and sea views, with large sections of coastline, and the surfing mecca of Jeffrey’s Bay visible from the veranda.

Three self-catering wooden cottages (Yellowwood, Coral-Tree and Inkberry), are set around the picturesque Broughton Dam. The cottages come equipped with a stove, a microwave oven, cutlery, crockery and glassware for 4 guests (or 2 guests in the case of the single bedroom Inkberry cottage), pots and pans, and BBQ accessories. Each cottage has an undercover carport, shaded veranda and private BBQ (braai) facilities.

The Island Nature Reserve forms the southern boundary of the property, allowing access to over 30km of horse riding and walking trails through the natural coastal forest. An abundance of small indigenous game can also be found on the property, including Bushbuck, Duiker, Steenbok, and on occasion, Porcupine and Bush Pig. Five kilometres of walking/jogging trails are currently being developed through the indigenous forest, grasslands and gardens of the property for guests to enjoy.
